While it’s only April, August will be here before we know it and the 2014 European Championships will be upon us. The Royal Spanish Swimming Federation revealed the roster for Spain’s championship team on Tuesday. The selections were based of off the 2014 Spain Spring Championships that occurred April 10-13. The stars are all there in Mireia Belmonte Garcia, Melani Costa, Judith Ignacio, and Carlos Peralta.
Belmonte Garcia is coming off a huge Spanish nationals, breaking national records and surging near the top of the world rankings. She’ll be the Spanish superstar to watch in Berlin. Jessica Vall Montero grabbed a Spanish national record of her own in the 100 breast, as she’ll try and compete with Ruta Meilutyte and Rikke Moller Pedersen come August. Marina Garcia holds the top time in the world thus far this year in the 200 fly while Rafael Munoz Perez ranks fifth in the 50 fly. The rosters are as follows:

The 2014 European World Championships will go through August 13th-24th and will be held in Berlin, Germany.
This summer will also feature the 2014 Junior European Championships in July where Spain has been praised with a lot of success. 24 swimmers will represent Spain at that meet while another 8 Spanish swimmers will represent their country at the 2014 Youth Olympics in August. The youth teams from Spain had great meets at these competitions in the past and are looking to do the same this year. The rosters are as follows:
