Spanish Federation Unveils Olympic Team Suits for Rio

The Spanish Olympic team gathered at the CN Metropole in Las Palmas de Gran Cavaria where the federation unveiled the team’s uniform for Rio. The Speedo suits have a black base with the  design females having a wave like design of red and yellow on the upper half of the suit while the men have the same wave like design that runs from the sides of the suit through to the front.

The Spanish team has chosen to include the quote “We are all one” on the inside of the suit. This is much like the Aussies who have include the quote of “I am ready.”

“We are all one” is a reminder that the strength of the team will help create and support an environment that is conducive to individual success in Rio. This year’s Spanish team is made up of 22 athletes, which includes 10 females and 12 males. This is four more athletes than represented the nation at the 2012 Games.

In London Mireia Belmonte was the only medal winner finishing second in the 800 freestyle and 200 butterfly. Belmonte will once again be in the mix for Olympic hardware as she is currently ranked third in the 400 IM and fourth in the 200 butterfly.
