As anticipation mounts for Tokyo, Speedo has unveiled the “Make Waves” campaign showcasing Team Speedo athletes in-and-out of the pool and exploring significant topics such as body positivity, self-expression and empowerment. As part of the inspirational campaign, the brand launched a series of 30-second films featuring their athletes and detailing the challenges they’ve faced throughout their careers.

In the U.S., Olympians Caeleb Dressel and Abbey Weitzeil and Paralympians Jamal Hill and Becca Meyers are featured on “Make Waves” billboards in iconic locations such as Venice Beach, LAX and Sunset Boulevard, providing a major presence for Speedo in the U.S. market. The campaign will be in market from July through August.

“‘Make Waves’ aims to provide a platform to our immensely talented athletes as they showcase their ambitions and the topics they are most passionate about,” said Speedo North America President Jim Gerson. “As a brand that prioritizes boundary-pushing innovation, we are proud to spotlight Team Speedo athletes who demonstrate relentless determination in challenging the status quo and striving for greatness.”

The 360 campaign features large format OOH; digital OOH experiences; paid social on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube; online video advertisements; and retail partner activities with Dick’s Sporting Goods and Target.
