Brendan Alvino, a current high school senior from Nazareth, Pennsylvania, has committed to swim for Division 3 Susquehanna University. Alvino will graduate from Nazareth Area High School in May 2020 and join the Riverhawks’ class of 2024.
Alvino, a sprinting specialist, currently swims for Nazareth Easton YMCA Swim Team. During his time with this team, Alvino swam the freestyle leg of their All-American medley relay team with a split of 21.24. In addition, Alvino was a PIAA State medalist in the 200 medley relay and swam at the 2019 YMCA Short Course National Championships.

With his current best times, Alvino would have had multiple finals performances with the Riverhawks at the 2019 Landmark Conference Championships. Alvino would have placed 4th in the 100 backstroke (53.16), 6th in the 100 butterfly (52.38), and 7th in both the 50 freestyle (21.73) and the 100 freestyle (48.02).
At this meet, the Susquehanna placed 2nd as a team.
Alvino will begin his swimming career at Susquehanna University beginning in the fall of 2020.
