ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women’s swimming and diving team opens the 2019-20 season at Penn State Friday, Oct. 4 beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Bonnies head coach Skip Nitardy enters his second season at the helm after becoming the first head coach of the combined swimming and diving programs a season ago.

Head diving coach Stephanie Fleming is in her seventh season as head coach and third since returning to St. Bonaventure.

This year’s roster features four seniors – Izzy Aguilera, Erin Carmody, Tayler Gnan and Elena Rohr. Also returning for the Brown and White is sophomore Rachel Kimmel who won a bronze medal and set the St. Bonaventure program record in the 200-breaststroke at last year’s Atlantic 10 Championships. Junior Mia Cote returns after swimming to a sixth-place finish in the 100-butterfly at A-10 Championships last year.

The Bonnies welcome five newcomers to this year’s squad. Allison Lenda, Mary Wilson, Beth Thomas and Maria Mangini join the program as freshmen while Hayley Tasselmyer is a junior transfer from Niagara.

The 2019-20 schedule is highlighted by two home meets at the Reilly Center Pool. St. Bonaventure’s first home meet is Friday, Nov. 15 against Little Three rival Canisius. The Bonnies will host Binghamton Jan. 20 for senior night in the final home meet of the season.
