The St. Bonaventure women’s swimming and diving team is set host the Canisius Golden Griffins Saturday afternoon at the Reilly Center Pool for a 1:00 P.M. start.
Prior to the start of the meet, Head Coach Krista Carlson and the Department of Athletics will honor the seven graduating seniors on this year’s team.
Taylor Anderson has been a versatile swimmer over her four years for the Bonnies. As a sophomore she was a member of three relays that finished in the top eight at the Atlantic 10 championships. Last season, she was a member of the 200-yd medley relay team that posted a 10th place finish at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships.
Adelyn Graf has been a backstroke and IM swimmer for coach Carlson. As a freshman she finished 10th overall in the 400-yd IM, 13th overall in the 100-yd backstroke and tied for fifth in the 200-yd backstroke at the A-10 Championships. This season, she posted a second place finish in the 200 backstroke vs. Youngstown state and a 4th place finish in that same event in a double dual meet vs. Saint Louis and Duquesne. She is also the current record holder for St. Bonaventure in the 200-yd Backstroke.
Tanja Kirmse in her three years with the Bonnies has been a mainstay at the top of the leaderboard. Her freshman year at the conference championship meet she posted two top three finishes in both the 200 and 500-yd freestyle events. Last season she posted a top eight finish in the 500-yd freestyle at the Championship meet and was named the Atlantic 10’s performer of the week Nov. 4th. She is the current record holder in the 200-yd butterfly, 200 and 500-yd freestyle, as well as a member of the record setting 400 Medley at 800-yd freestyle relays
Elizabeth Malone has competed in butterfly, freestyle and Medley events over her time with the Bonnies. As a sophomore, she finished 9th in the 100-yd butterfly at the A-10 championships as well as an 8th place finish as a member of the 200-yd medley relay. This season, she placed first in the 200-yd butterfly in a meet against Atlantic 10 foes Saint Louis and Duquesne as well as a member of the record setting 400 Medley relay.
Alexa Scanlan has competed in sprint freestyle and backstroke events during her four years with the Bonnies. She swam the 50 free, 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and was a member of the 200 yard freestyle really at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championships.
Kati Winterburn has been a consistent contributor throughout her time with the Bonnies. Last season against Cleveland State she finished fourth in the 100 and 200-yd breastroke events both season best times. Last season she swam the 50-yd freestyle, 100-yd freestyle and 200-yd breastroke at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championships.
Shannon Haberman has been a distance freestyler during her time for the Bonnies. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native swam the 500-yd freestyle, 200-yd freestyle and 1650 freestyle at last year’s championship meet. Her sophomore year she was a member of the 800-yd freestyle relay that posted a 5th place finish.
This will be the first of two home meets for the Bonnies this season. The second one comes in Feb. vs. the University of New York at Buffalo.
