  • Dylan Dela Cruz – 1st place in both the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.
  • Rachel Valentine – 1st place in the 100 breaststroke and 2nd place in the 200 breaststroke.

Coach’s Quotes – Mark Kretzer

  • “The team raced great today, with standout performances by sophomore Rachel Valentine on the women’s side and senior Arthur Bertrand on the men’s side. Freshman Dylan Dela Cruz also took home double victories in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke races, helping the men to a victory against a great Lafayette program.”
  • “This meet is always a challenge for our athletes.”
  • “They spent the last 10 days doing two practices a day, along with an increased workload on lifting. The point of this meet is certainly not to reach, or even approach our best times from this season, but to get back into the racing mindset after focusing on training so intensely for nearly two weeks.”
  • “We hope this meet can springboard our team with some momentum going into an excited home meet against conference rival Monmouth on Saturday which will be our senior recognition day, as well as an alumni reunion following the meet.”

The Leopards had a successful winter training session in Florida and Dailey believes the best is yet to come. “We had a great winter training trip to Plantation, Florida and it’s been a tough 12 days of training. The swimmers are tired and sore but raced very well today. It has only been roughly 35 hours since we got off the plane from Florida.”

The Leopards return to action on Saturday, hosting Colgate at 1:30 p.m.
