Stanford’s Minakov, USC’s Wang Named Pac-12 Men’s Swimmer & Diver of the Week

MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Andrei Minakov, Fr., Stanford (Saint Petersburg, Russia)

  • Scored 23.5 points to lead the 11th-ranked Cardinal to a win against No. 8 USC by a score of 182-118, moving Stanford to 6-0 in dual meets on the season and 4-0 in Pac-12 meets.
  • The freshman picked up two individual first-place victories in the 50-yard freestyle (19.58) and 100-yard butterfly (46.40).
  • Also swam as part of two of Stanford’s winning relay teams, including a 17-hundredths of a second victory over the Trojans in the 200-yard medley relay to open the meet.
  • Was a part of four event titles on the day out of Stanford’s 11 total event wins.

MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Sean Wang, Fr., USC (Vancouver, Canada) 

  • Swept the men’s diving competition to lead the Trojans during their 182-118 loss to No. 11 Stanford.
  • He took first place in the 3-meter with a final score of 348.45.
  • Also took first in the men’s 1-Meter competition, finishing the afternoon with 429.60 points.
