The first leg of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series will take place from March 6-8 in Paris (FRA), with the participation of athletes from 23 nations. For the start of the 2020 circuit comprising eight meets until June, some of the strong countries in the discipline will gather in the French capital for the three-day event, to be held in the historical Georges Vallerey swimming pool, initially built for the 1924 Olympic Games.

Powerhouses such as Spain, Ukraine, France, Greece or USA will be in action and will fight for the podium positions in the 10 finals of the programme. Absent in the French capital, the teams of China and Russia are not travelling to Paris for the artistic swimming competition due to the disruption caused by the coronavirus outbreak.

On Friday, March 6, the artistic swimming fans will have the opportunity to follow the Technical Duet, Technical Mixed Duet, Technical Solo and Free Duet finals, while Saturday’s session will include the Free Solo, Free Combination, Free Mixed Duet and Technical Team events. Finally, on Sunday, this inaugural leg will conclude with the Highlight Routine and Free Team competition.

The provisional entry list for the first leg of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series comprises the following participating National Federations: Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Israel, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, San Marino, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United States and Uzbekistan.

After the French rendezvous, the World Series will proceed to Hurghada (EGY, March 27-29), Alexandroupolis (GRE, April 3-5), Budapest (HUN, April 9-11), Kazan (RUS, April 17-19), Madrid (ESP, May 29-31), and Rochester (USA, June 12-14).
