Vienna, Virginia’s Rachael Holp has announced her intention to swim for the Virginia Tech H2Okies beginning in the fall of 2018. The rising senior at James Madison High School wrote on social media:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim for Virginia Tech!!! Cant’t [sic] wait to be a Hokie! ?❤️ #talonsup”
Holp swam for James Madison at the 2017 VHSL 6A State Meet, where she placed fourth in the 200 IM (2:06.28) and 11th in the 100 back (57.39), led off their 200 medley relay, and anchored their 400 free relay, both of which were 6A runners-up. She came away with best times in the 50 back and 100 back.
Holp also swims for Machine Aquatics out of Arlington. At the 2017 NCSA Spring Junior National Championship in March, she competed in the 100/200/500 free, 50/100/200 back, and 200/400 IM, and earned new PBs in all the freestyles plus the 400 IM.

The Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University class of 2022 now consists of verbal commits Holp, Abby Larson, Alex Slayton, Julia Bruneau, Loulou Vos, and Natalia Fryckowska.
