17-year-old world champion Summer McIntosh did her thing in the 400 IM last night, sneaking under the 4:30 barrier to top the field handily. McIntosh says she enjoys competing in all 4 strokes, looking forward to the 200 breast on the last day of the meet to build her breaststroke endurance for this grueling event.

Did she swim the 200 breast on the last day? Thought she swam the 200 back only

She did. She won 200 breast C final in 2:30.43

She swam both events. She mentioned in an interview a day earlier that she would be swimming both and was looking forward to it as she doesn’t get to swim either discipline that often.

Note she doesn’t do a crossover turn for back-to-breast in her 400IMs. Not worth the risk for her, in my opinion, given the cameras nowadays at the major meets.

What? People think this is directed at Regan? I took this to be a self-effacing comment at her own breaststroke weakness.

I think it shows just how thirsty swimming is for real rivalries haha.

It was 100% self-effacing. She struggles in the breaststroke at times and was just pointing that out. Pretty clear to see.

Lol it absolutely was about herself. Why would she trash talk someone else about her own weakest stroke?

Summer doesn’t seem like one to trash talk.
Also she is so obviously better than everyone in the 400 IM at this point so trash-talking would be useless.
