Swim Barbabos and Learn How Life Was Perfected There

If you google Barbados you will find phrases such as this:

“Life didn’t begin in Barbados; it was just perfected here.”

You may see descriptions such as this:

“ A place where refined luxury and exceptional culinary delights dance and mingle among lush tropical greenery, blue waters and warm golden sunlight.”

You will be given advice on what to do when you arrive:

“Spend a day on a white sandy beach. Try some flying fish. Enjoy a rum punch. Learn to trade the rush, rush for the slow and easy. Let us teach you how to truly live. Come celebrate living!”

Since the inaugural one-day event in 2013 the Barbados Open Water Festival has blossomed into two days of action-packed water activity with swimmers of all abilities from across the globe. 2015 will bring more of the same: 1.5 and 5K swim events, stand up paddle races, kayak races and a beach BBQ. (The Kayak event is a fundraiser for the very deserving charity: “Variety: the Childrens’ Charity”). Due to the popularity of the informal practice swims in 2014 guided practice swims are being offered ahead of the main events this year, at the swim venue and two other spectacular locations.

From historic sites such as the UNESCO World Heritage designated capital city to safari tours, rum distillery visits, swimming with sea turtles, cave exploration, boat cruises, tropical gardens, submarine dives and so much more.

Every year several swimmers ask the question: “How do we get there? Where do we fly to?” Although only a dot on world maps Barbados boasts its own International Airport with daily flights from major cities in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and the Caribbean.

So book your flight and keep swimming: Barbados awaits you!
