Swim Job: Bethlehem Area YMCA seeks Assistant Coach

BAY-Ray-Logo.pngThe Bethlehem Branch of the Capital District YMCA is looking to fill the part time position of Assistant Swim Coach. Under the Aquatics Director the Assistant Swim coach assists the swim coach in building and maintaining a successful YMCA Swim Team. Duties include, but are not limited to, conducting swim practices and meets which abide by all applicable guidelines.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in all levels of competitive swim participation at the scholastic, collegiate or club level or equivalent experience.
  • Previous coaching experience preferred.
  • Current First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification (Training/Certifications provided if needed).
  • Current aquatic certifications preferred (Lifeguarding, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, WSI/YSI, etc.)
  • Be able to pass the CDYMCA swim test, as administered by the Aquatic Director.
  • Positive outlook and the ability to multi task in a high pace environment.
  • Excellent human relation skills, good organizational and communication skills.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assist in organizing Parents Association to support the swim team.
  • Manage program evaluation process through obtaining feedback and sharing with Director and Swim Coach.
  • Assist with managing competitions scheduled at the YMCA.
  • Plan, organize and manage swim practices.
  • Actively market and promote the program.
  • Maintain cleanliness of facility as a member of Clean Team.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Available Shifts:

Part Time (15-20 hrs. weekly) Evening and Weekend hours

Pay Range:

$10.00-11.00/hour
