We are currently recruiting a Swim Coach for our aquatics program. Porter Valley Country Club is a private golf and country club nestled into the hills of the Northern San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County. We are a full service family friendly country club specializing in golf, tennis, athletics and swim. Our social/dining calendar is jam packed with fun events year round.
Position Description
The Swim Coach position is a year round non-exempt position that manages the PVCC Polar Bears and all aquatics programming. Our team swims in the Coastal division of the Southern California Swimming Inc, a part of USA Swimming. We offer private and group lessons for Members and non-members. We have created a fun, safe and exciting program that is ripe for growth. The swim coach reports directly to and is supported by the General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Organize, coach, and manage the PVCC Polar Bears swim team.
- Create and implement aquatics programming for PVCC.
- Organize and manage guard schedules as needed.
- Work with other departments in club to exceed Member expectations.
- Abide by all USA Swimming Code of Conduct rules.
- Assist in recruiting and provide training for, and orientation of, pool/swim staff.
- Assist in ordering all equipment for aquatics programs including the lesson program, swim team, and water aerobics.
- Participate in weekly department head staff meetings.
- Connect Members and to other Members through implementation of our three steps of service.
- Promote the facility amenities, programs and the Club while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service that aligns with the values, philosophies and standards of the club.
- Grow our team, our program and our membership through your expertise in swimming.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess or be willing to obtain current USA Swimming coach certifications in good standing and pass all required background checks.
- Current Life Guard Certification.
- Proven success in coaching swimming and/or collegiate level swimming experience is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Attending meets throughout the season.
- Promote the team philosophy and foster a positive and friendly practice environment for athletes in the water.
Compensation
A combination of base salary and tiered commission. Local candidates preferred.
