Swim Job: Raleigh Swimming Association seeks Head Age Group Coach

JOB DESCRIPTION

Raleigh Swimming Association, RSA teamlogo_1672_1419876687922.jpgRaleigh Swimming Association (RSA) is currently seeking a Head Age Group Coach.

Interested candidates should have a passion for the sport, experience with competitive swimming, experience coaching age group athletes, excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow as a coach and professional.

Additional qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in competitive swimming programs at the developmental level
  • Knowledge in practical, theoretical, and psychological concepts of competitive swimming as well as an understanding of age and gender characteristics of children and adolescents
  • Knowledge of the physiological aspects of competitive swimming training, and how to develop swimmers in a safe manner
  • Experience in planning and running successful meets
  • Certifications required: USA Swimming Coach, Lifeguard.

The Head Age Group Coach works closely with the Head Coach to determine the goals for the swim team, grow the membership, and retain the current membership. In addition, responsibilities include developing all levels of age group swimmers with a focus on technique, primary coaching responsibility of our 13/14 age group and 9/10 age group swimmers, planning and implementation of swim and dryland training, attending weekend swim meets as scheduled, consistently communicating with swimmers and parents and other team administrative duties as defined by the Head Coach and the Board of Directors.

Salary

Salary is commensurate with experience, with a range of $30,000 to $40,000. Benefits and performance bonuses are possible for the ideal candidate.
