SwimJams: Elite Sprint Freshman, Erik Risolvato, Records Swimming Flow

We at SwimSwam are all about Swimming Flows. The latest comes from Indian River State College freshman Erik Risolvato out of Ohio, who is one of the fastest high school sprinters in history.

The song, entitled “Just Keep Swimming” plays off of a hook from the ubiquitous line oft-chanted by Dory from the movie Finding Nemo that is often used by homonid swimmers, somewhat but not entirely tongue-in-cheek, to motivate themselves through hard workouts.

It’s a rough cut, recorded on his computer with no microphone, but the potential is definitely there. The hook is well-known enough to catch the attention of the listener, but still is unique to the song – it won’t be confused with the original, and will speak a little better to an older audience, while still capturing the positivity associated with Dory’s always-upbeat attitude.

Erik tells us a studio version is probably coming when he’s home for Christmas, with a video likely to follow shortly thereafter.

Risolvato has been a 19.62 in the 50 yard free and a 44.03 in the 100 yard free.
