Girls’ 200 Medley Relay – Timed Final
In a fantastic start to the East version of Winter Juniors, SwimMAC Carolina’s A team won a very closely-contested 200 medley relay. Lexi Souther (25.71), Caroline Hauder (28.37), Alyssa Marsh (23.31), and Jessica Merritt (22.36) combined for 1:39.75, coming in just ahead of Nashville Aquatic Club’s Alex Walsh, Allie Raab, Tatum Wade, and Julia-Jane Eskew.
SwimMAC’s B team (Julia Menkhaus, Meghan Dupay, Christina Lappin, and Erika Brown) edged Lakeside Swim Team (Asia Seidt, Kennedy Lohnman, Brooke Forde, and Brooke Bauer) for the bronze medal, 1 40.10 to 1:40.23.
The rest of the top 8 was comprised of Cardinal Aquatics (Zorry Mason, Kaylee Wheeler, Grace Oglesby, and Gabi Albeiro) 1:40.96; Gator Swim Club (Caitlin Brooks, Isabel Ivey, Talia Bates, and Kirschtine Baluena) 1:41.14; Marlins of Raleigh (Brooke Rubendall, Ashley McCauley, Madison Homovich, and Grace Countie) 1:42.51; and Bolles School Sharks (Abi Wilder, Olga Lapteva, Sherridon Dressel, and Lauren Dunn) 1:42.79. SwimAtlanta (1:42.87) and Dynamo Swim Club (1:42.95) were also under 1:43.
Boys’ 200 Medley Relay – Timed Final
Bolles School Sharks dominated the competition in the first boys’ event winning the medley relay in 1:28.64. Andy Song An (22.55), James Daugherty (24.80), Ariel Spektor (21.64), and Tyler Rice (19.65) combined for the win. Second place went to Upper Dublin Aquatic Club’s Alessandro Boratto, Wyatt Amdor, Michael Jensen, and Jake Sannem in 1:29.36. NOVA of Virginia (Sam Cuthbert, Charlie Swanson, Ted Schubert, and Aaron Schultz) were third in 1:29.89.
Dynamo’s Michael Taylor, Derek Cox, Christian Lorys, and Erek Cox just missed the podium with a fourth-place 1:30.07. SwimMAC Carolina (Alex McMurry, Noah Cahan, John Shelstad, and Graham Weaver) came in fifth. SwimAtlanta (Taylor Delk, Jared Clance, Andrew Huenniger, and Alex Taylor) edged Marlins of Raleigh (Tyler Silver, Connor Blandford, Collier Cobb, and Will Countie) for sixth, 1:31.69 to 1:31.82. Marietta Marlins (Brady Fields, Austin Macon, Cullen Fields, and Colin Riley) took eighth by 1/100 over Bolles B team and by 2/100 over Bernal’s Gator.
Girls’ 800 Free Relay – Timed Final
SwimMAC Carolina crushed the meet record in the girls’ 800 free relay. The previous mark was 7:16.71, but Brown (1:48.01), Marsh (1:49.59), Lappin (1:48.95) and Merritt (1:45.33) combined for 7:11.88 to etch their names in the record book. Nashville Aquatic Club’s Wade, Walsh, Ella Nelson, and Raab were second with 7:12.64; Gator Swim Club’s Bates, Baluena, Kahra Williams and Ivey placed third in 7:13.66.
Dynamo (7:16.49), Bloomington Waves (7:16.78), Lakeside (7:18.70), Marlins of Raleigh (7:19.08), and Y-Spartaquatics (7:19.31) rounded out the top eight.
Boys’ 800 Free Relay – Timed Final
Upper Dublin Aquatic Club scored a gold medal in the boys’ 4×200 free relay, with Boratto (1:40.25), Amdor (1:42.30), Sannem (1:36.65), and Jensen (1:34.36) combining for 6:33.56. Just behind them were NOVA of Virginia (Schubert, Swanson, Schultz, and Jac Cortright) with 6:34.17, and Bolles School (Song An, Nicholas Hackett, Dakota Mahaffey, and Rice) with 6:35.11.
Dynamo came in fourth (6:38.25), followed by Lakeside (6:39.25), Mason Manta Rays (6:40.34), Cincinnati Marlins (6:40.77), and Carmel Swim Club (6:41.47).

Is nobody going to mention Jensen’s huge anchor leg? Everyone is oggling over Greishop’s 1:36, but Jensen swam 1:34 to run down a relay that was almost 5 seconds ahead at the exchange. That’s a real story right there.
Interesting 24.90 backstroke lead-off leg by 14-year-old Alex Walsh.
Impressive 22.81 anchor leg by her 12-year-old sister Gretchen.
And very impressive 1.44.39 anchor leg by 15-year-old Isabel Ivey.
