Swimming From Home: Michael Litzinger (Notre Dame) on Favorite Swimming Stories

We are all trying to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic as best we can. Staying at home and not socializing is not an easy task for anyone, and keeping a swimmer out of the pool is equally antagonizing. Therefore, SwimSwam is starting the Swimming From Home Talk Show, where host Coleman Hodges speaks with the swimming community about how they’re coping with our current goggle-less reality.

Notre Dame head coach Michael Litzinger started off our conversation by indulging me and my wonder of what the recruiting process of Zach Yeadon.  We went on to talk about some of the fondest memories coach Litzinger had not just from Notre Dame, but from his previous position at UNC, and all the way back to coaching summer camp at Alabama, which ultimately led him away from law school and into the coaching realm.

Shoulda finished law school. To have failed in the pursuit of such a valuable degree is torublesome to me. The law will always be. College swim coaching seems to be an uncertain profession.

Where did Yeadon transfer to? Why did he leave? He seemed to be swimming well.
