PMC ko likhe ek letter mein, Rashtriya Life Saving Society (RLSS) ne civic limits mein drowning ko prevent krne ke liye strict measures lene ke liye demand kiya.
RLSS ne point out krte huye kaha ki pools ne lifeguards ko poorly trained kiya hai aur safety systems mei bhi lack kar rhe hai. Wo ye bhi chahte hai ki immediate safety workshops conduct kiye jaayein taaki in pools mein safety standards badhaye jaa sakein drowning ko prevent krne ke liye.
Ye letter PMC ko send kiya gaya on-going summer vacations ke chalte, jiski wajah se pools bhi overcrowded ho rhe hai aur bahot jyada cloudy waters ki wajah se accidents bhi frequently ho rhe hai
Chetna Kerure, deputy commissioner (sports), PMC, May 8 ko kaha ki civic body ne safety measures ko le kar sbhi swimming pool owners aur lifeguards ke liye workshop conduct kiya hai.
“Ye workshops annually conduct kiye jaate hai aur sbhi private, government aur semi-government swimming pool ke owners ko join krne ke liye kaha jaata hai. Jab bhi changes kiye jaate hai tab hum swimming pool ke audits bhi lete hai. Surprise checks bhi kiye jaate hai.”
RLSS ne apne letter mein batate huye kaha ki drowning ke 3 cases 10 days ke span mei huye hai, jisme se ek Khadakwasla mei hua hai, ek Hadaspur ke school swimming pool mein, aur third hua hai Maharashtra Divisional Sports Complex, Yerawada mein.
Kerure ne kaha ki Yerwada ka divisional sports compels PMC ke purview ke under mei nhi tha.
