We’re back for another edition of Swimming’s TopTenTweets (and other social media posts) of the week! We’re beginning to look towards the NCAA season, but there’s still some good content out from Worlds and the many other meets that happened last month. Let’s get into it.

Swim news dropping in the middle of an episode of Big Brother IS growing the sport, actually.

7. Team Goggles
We love this reel from the Swimming Canada Worlds’ contingent.
6. Most Meters in Fukuoka
We added up who swam the most in the pool, but Kristof Rasovszky was on a different level.
Do you know 🇭🇺 Kristof RASOVSZKY is the athlete with the most metres swum at #Fukuoka23?
Kristof swam 20900m across #Openwater and #swimming competitions. For a faster recovery, Kristoff used a rubber band on on his arms and legs to help blood circulation. Watch out the video! pic.twitter.com/omkiOYrjHe

4. Happy Crystal Anniversary
The best angle of the iconic relay, 15 years later.
It’s been 15 years since this moment that will live on forever in Olympic history:

3. Off To College
Bella Sims says ‘thank’ you to her Sandpiper teammates as she heads to Florida but as Claire Weinstein commented, they’re “still the lethal trio just from 2,000 miles away.”
2. Destiny Arrives
I wouldn’t go so far as to call the new conference realignments “perfectly balanced,” though.

1. Swimming Laps
This gets the #1 spot because it’s the most relaxing thing I’ve seen all week.

The list is so subjective. I think Michael Phelps and Tiger Woods should have a home up there. Likely in place of Ruth and Brady.
ESPN analysts said recently that Mahomes could pass Brady as the football GOAT in the next few years, so it feels hypocritical to have Brady on their top-5 all-time list. If he can be eclipsed within a decade of retirement, then he isn’t deserving of a spot on this list in my opinion.
MP not on the top 5 greatest athletes list is criminal.
Who do you take off that list to put him on?
Babe Ruth 100%. Babe Ruth basically only had only had to compete against white Americans. He was great for his time period but not the same as what is required to be a GOAT today.
I had to google who the hell Babe Ruth even was or is. I have heard of the other 4 Americans on this list so I am guessing this is just from American athletes. I am sure it would be very contentious to make a list like this from athletes worldwide and non sport specific.
if you had to google Babe Ruth please revoke your passport😭
Probably the equivalent to this list including Leigh Matthews. Outside of an Australian, you probably get people asking “who??” but in AFL circles down under, there would be a lot of support for his inclusion in a list of this nature.
Point is, there is a tonne of GOAT players/athletes from very different sports that could equally be argued for inclusion on a list of this nature, and not all of them would be household names outside of the country predominantly where that sport is big. Baseball not really a “world game”, many people not from USA or Japan probably going to have to google Babe Ruth to understand his inclusion.
When you have a US sports show mainly shown in the US, I would say that the chance that a non-US athlete would make it is slow to none.
Serena Williams doesn’t even have the most grand slams by a woman. Don’t get me wrong great tennis player but Phelps should be on there instead of her.
