Cameron McEvoy swam incredibly well at the Australian Olympic Trials, nearly breaking 47 seconds in the 100m free in one of the best races we’ve seen this year. His speed in the 100 this past week puts him as an early favorite to win that event in Rio, though a lot can change between now and then.

#4

Cate Campbell swam a quick 23.93 50 free in semifinals at the Australian Olympic Trials, and then dropped a textile world record of 23.84 along with new Australian and Commonwealth records. She is now eleven hundredths shy of becoming the fastest female 50 freestyler ever.

#3

Just like James Guy, this will be Jazz Carlin‘s first-ever Olympiad.

#2

Making the Olympic team can be everything to an athlete.

Definitely #2 & #5…

#1 is all to funny. Freshman year, MN, @ NCs. Finish the 100BK, turn around to see a young female volunteer with a clipboard and a less-than-enthusiastic look on her face telling me I’m the random test for the event… Wish I would have know that before I swam the 100BK and, well, drained the tank. She wishes I was someone other than a B standard, slide in on the coattails of a relay swimmer.
