is it just me or has the swimswam podcast quality gone down? the audio is laggy and terrible. I used to enjoy listening to podcasts on end, but the lag is making it unbearable, I have tried it on both youtube and google podcasts btw
Braden mentioning Coleman Stewart’s scm wr reminded me that I forgot to make fun of him for talking about Dahlia in the 100 fly in the women’s preview. “What’s she done since trials? Aside from that WR.”
And did y’all forget about Casas in the 2 IM? His best time is faster than Foster’s now and there’s no 2 back conflict here I don’t think.
To be fair, Dahlia has always been much better is short course than long course. She has one individual bronze medal in long course from five years ago and that’s it. Comparing her SC times to LCM there is a major difference. I don’t think the SCM WR means anything for trials. I will be shocked if she’s top 3 in anything.
Carson definitely swimming the 4Free. At trials at least
Drunk Loretta or Ambien Ben? I think Loretta. Ben could be good, he has some knowledge obviously but no passion. Also needs to translate knowledge to insights. The best example was Brooks Curry discussion. Bringing him up was good but Braden took it much further discussing technique and linking to other concepts. He just needs experience but from an entertainment pov, not there yet.
Ben is a definite no. He brought up Michael Andrew in 100 Free when he probably won’t even swim it. If he does he isn’t finishing top 6.
I thought he had some great insights talking about Canadian trials last time…
I will take Born Again Coleman with the shrine in the background. He served Loretta the blood of Christ
Braden and the winner of the most recent Pick ‘em contest with Coleman moderating and Mel randomly jumping on every few minutes to interrupt with “But who cares what I think? What do you think?” and then leaving.
Would watch.
The awkwardness of pulling in randos would be amazing and I vote yes.
Agree, Loretta, Braden, and Coleman have great chemistry. I laugh so hard during their breakdowns especially Braden’s “teeny weeny” comment.
Braden, they weren’t the only ones laughing.
The other guys are knowledgeable but Loretta, Braden, and Coleman entertain as well.
Also Braden, your comment about anyone who wins the 50 and 100 at NCAA’s is in the conversation.
Ryan Hoffer. He’s NEVER been in the conversation in LCM. At least he was GREAT at scy. It just goes to show great scy times don’t always translate to lcm times. Not only that but it’s usually the same guys or girls who are always near the top in finals. They are just very blessed and gifted with their… Read more »
Did peironi actually retire i thought he just had to skip world trials because of surgery?
Yeah don’t think he retired, just missing worlds because of the surgery
He’s not retired idk why Braden thinks that when they posted an article on him getting surgery. I don’t believe he is 100% done.
He is retired. He hasn’t swam since October last year
I misspoke. As far as we know, he isn’t retired, he’s just injured.
What is the $ by some swimmers names on the psyche sheet?
Dedicating this podcast appearance to “Swimfan” who didn’t like my energy last time <3
Ben wanted to see Andrew do one event in each stroke.
Actually in 2019, MA made the final in all 50s of strokes and finished 19th in the 100 breast.
wow
