Coleman, never doubt Katharine. She doesn’t see ceilings.

lol I think I have a good guess as to who you are now.

snarky’s favorite swimmers:

1) Always perform at big meets (even when they don’t swim at big meets)
2) Always perform at big meets (even when they don’t perform well at big meets).

Got it.

Katharine gets a fraction of the respect she deserves. She has never added at NCAAS from her times at ACCs. She will in all likelihood be faster at NCAAs than she was at ACCs and if that’s the case she will be very hard to beat. Regan wasn’t much faster at PAC 12s and did it in clean water on a relay. Katharine has only gotten closer to Regan’s times in the past 3 years and now she is right there. I think it will be a close race.

I think you guys are over-estimating Alex in the 4 IM. I see Forde under 4 but Alex not yet there.

AW is like top 5 in all four strokes of the 200s of course she is going to crush this one.

What’s that, y’all picked 3 different people to win the 200 fly and brought up two others as a “dark horse”???

idk why I’m shippin’ Regan as 4th so much, but it’s possible! (I just want more people to yell at me for some reason over a pick i didn’t even make??)

I think it’s highly plausible we see Lia win one of her races, but I wouldn’t be surprised to also see her win none.

Like Braden said, we just don’t have enough data points to provide any better insight than we have already seen. She went really fast at her winter invite.. Not so much at conference. But like the story as old as time, we don’t know how rested Penn allowed their NCAA qualifiers to get for conference… So who knows

Well, she was 4:18.7 in the 500 two years ago. I don’t know much about hormone suppression medication, but what if she stopped taking them before NCAA’s? Would she go 4:26?

Stanford women’s freshman class will score the most points than any other freshman class at this meet. Change my mind.

This seems fairly obvious…they have two American Record holders and Olympians..

Peanut Gallery:
I am not going to predict because just rehashing your articles and the reason polls and predictions don’t matter and this is why they have the meet!
-Please stop saying women frosh can’t do this or that is because they are freshmen! That is absurd. Several have been to Olympics and/or medaled there. Many have some great international experience. They were recruited because they are studs.
-Some good discussion about how will the loss of Rick Bishop affects UM performance. How will new Alabama head coach affect them? How about talking about split programs vs combined programs? Cal and Texas men have won for like 10 years in a row and they are split….is there… Read more »

Agreed. Age for women makes little difference after 14 or 15

Sounds like a perfect opportunity for a swimswam breakdown spinoff podcast. The Ready Room Alt-Lane Crossfire Podcast!

Are you saying that a woman cannot discuss men’s sports? Why is the women’s meet more her wheelhouse than the men’s meet?

Ghost

Not saying that. They already did it and don’t need to do it again

Steven Nolan, Ghost wasn’t clear on why, so I was asking for clarification.

STEPHEN Nolan, tyvm.

And I know, which is why I answered it. Your first sentence just made it seem like Ghost said something sexist.

(Which now that I look back at it, the comment was:

“-I will like to hear Jared or another college writer in this discussion for the men’s meet instead of Loretta…not really in her wheelhouse.”

So the clues were kinda there. [I’m not faulting you for not knowing she doesn’t really cover US college meets, but a bit of a fault for immediately thinking Ghost was being sexist.])

About Coleman Hodges

Coleman Hodges

Coleman started his journey in the water at age 1, and although he actually has no memory of that, something must have stuck. A Missouri native, he joined the Columbia Swim Club at age 9, where he is still remembered for his stylish dragon swim trunks. After giving up on …
