Our most recent poll asked SwimSwam readers to predict the winner of the women’s ACC Championship:

Question: Who will win the 2018 Women’s ACC Championship?
- Louisville – 41.0%
- Virginia – 30.7%
- NC State – 19.8%
- Notre Dame – 4.1%
- North Carolina – 3.6%
- Other – 0.8%
About 4 out of 10 voters predicted Louisville to win the women’s ACC Championships, with only 30% picking eventual champions Virginia.
Our poll did run through some days of the meet, which could have boosted numbers for those top two, who led much of the meet. The ACC is a notoriously loyal fandom in these polls, though, which is why an injury-riddled NC State team still took 20% of the vote and major underdogs Notre Dame and North Carolina still took home double-digit votes each.
Virginia ultimately won the meet by a wide margin of almost 250 points. Louisville was second, NC State third, UNC fourth and Duke fifth.

In defense of the poll, a first glance at the psyche sheets certainly justified the pre-meet numbers BUT wow, UVA certainly made the meet exciting! Congrats to them and a shout out to all of those members of the ACC “Loyal Fandom” (unc fan with horns & uva dad with pony were my faves!)
