Just a few hours before sweeping the opening relays on the first night of the 2015 ACC Swimming Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, the North Carolina State Wolfpack picked up a new verbal commitment to join their class in 2015.
Swiss breaststroker Patrik Schwarzenbach pledged his collegiate career to the program, telling SwimSwam today that he “committed to NC State because all the great coaches, swimmers, and the facilities are a very good base to be (great) in the pool and in the classroom as well.”
In long course, Schwarzenbach’s best times are:
- 50 breast – 29.18
- 100 breast – 1:03.40
- 200 breast – 2:15.61
In short course meters, his bests are:
- 50 breast – 28.24
- 100 breast – 1:01.20
- 200 breast – 2:10.41
Those times convert to around a 55-low over 100 yards and a 1:58-low over 200 yards.
Schwarzenbach, who has just passed his 19th birthday earlier this week, is a member of Switzerland’s National Team and qualified for the semi-finals of the 50, 100, and 200 breaststrokes at last year’s European Junior Swimming Championships.
