The Swiss Swimming Federation will be looking for a new National Team Head Coach for January 2014.
The Swiss Swimming Federation has posted the job on their website.
The main tasks will involve:
- They represent the strategy in the competitive sport of Swiss Swimming.
- You are responsible for the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the Framework-training plan with Swiss Swimming.
- They plan and carry out the activities of the elite national squad of Swiss Swimming
- They take over the sports business leadership and responsibility for the results of the elite squad.
- They support the head sports performance in all strategic and personnel areas of responsibility and act as an interface to Verbandstrainerrat.
- They work closely with all employees of Swiss Swimming.
Up until the 2012 Olympics the position was held by Russian coach Gennadi Touretski who trained a squad of Swiss athletes along with a group of foreign athletes that included Ian Thorpe at the Swiss Swimming Training Base in Tenero.
At the 2012 Olympics seven Swiss athletes competed with their top performer being Dominik Meichtry who finished 15th in the 200 freestyle, while at the 2013 World Championships in Barcelona the country only had three representatives with their top performer being Lukas Rauftlin who finished 20th in the 200 backstroke.
