Hanz Palattao, 12, erased a 20-year-old meet record in the 100 backstroke, breaking Shayne Fleming’s mark of 1:04.57 from 2004 with a winning time of 1:04.23.

The meet is named in honor of Adam Szmidt, a long-time Pacific Swimming official and volunteer who died from cancer in 2000.
