Tanizaki-Hudson Joins Colby-Sawyer College as Assistant Coach

Head Coach Conrad Kohrs Jr announced Derek Tanizaki-Hudson has joined the Chargers staff in the fall of 2018 after graduating from the University of California at San Diego where he swam all 4 years. He swam for U.S. Olympic Coach Dave Marsh in his senior year and qualified for division II national championships in his junior and senior years.

He was a senior member of the UCSD Camps, coaching in 2017-18, where he worked closely with Mr. Marsh.

A native of Kapolei, Hawaii, Derek also has coaching experience at the club level with American Renaissance Academy. He was a summer age group coach with ARA’s Santa Clara Swim Club satellite team in Kapolei for four years.

He is currently in his first year of law school at Vermont Law, where he is studying environmental law and lives in Royalton.
