TCU Women Ink Seven

The TCU swimming and diving team announced the signings of seven future Horned Frogs on Monday.

The signees include Hannah Dooley, Elise Forzley, Taylor Newton, Mary Woods, Rylee Lin, Owen Moncino and Nicqueline Rettberg.

Dooley, a native of Magnolia, Texas, is a freestyle swimmer. In the 2014-15 Texas 5A State Championships, Dooley took home second place in the 100 free at 51.31 and fourth in the 50 free with a time of 23.84.

“I chose TCU because it was simply the best fit for me,” said Dooley. “I fell in love with the team and coaches as well as the facilities and the beautiful campus. I cannot wait to spend the next four years of my swimming career as a Horned Frog! ”

Forzley, from Fort Collins, Colo., swims the 100 butterfly, the 100 & 200 backstroke and the 200 IM events. At the Speedo Champions Series, Forzley clocked in at 55.17 in the 100 fly and at 56.08 in the 100 back. Her 200 back time was 1:59.63. In the 200 IM, Forzley finished at 2:03.73.

“The coaches and team at TCU made me feel apart of the family the moment I stepped on to campus,” said Forzley. “I can’t wait to be part of the Frog Family!”

Newton, a native of Fountain Valley, Calif., is a mid-distance swimmer. Her sister, Devin Newton currently swims for TCU and holds two school records. Taylor Newton’s top times include 24.05 (50 free), 51.66 (100 free), 1:50.54 (200 free), 5:01.64 (500 free).

Woods, a native of Livermore, Calif., will swim distance. Woods boasts a top 1000 free time of 10:12.49 and a 500 free time of 4:53.47.

Lin, from Frisco, Texas, swims the medley and has a top time of 2:04.99 in the 200 IM.

Moncino, a diver from Atlanta, Ga., will join the Horned Frog diving team. Moncino has earned a 308.50 score in the 1-meter dive.

Rettberg, a native of Seal Beach, Calif., will swim distance for TCU. Rettberg’s best times include 10:03.96 (1000 free) and 16:47.28 (1650 free).

“I immediately felt at home from the minute I stepped on campus,” said Rettberg. “The team was so welcoming, and the coaches were amazing! I cannot wait to continue my athletic and academic career at such a wonderful university. Go Frogs!”
