After being the first alternate in the 100 breast for the 2022 Men’s NCAA Championships, Jadon Wuilliez was even more motivated to qualify for the top collegiate meet. This year he didn’t let anything get in the way of that, even being unable to train in his home pool. The TCU natatorium has been getting renovations for 6 months, meaning TCU has had to find other pool time in the DFW area, sometimes driving up to 30 minutes 4x per day for doubles. Through all this, the sophomore from Antigua got the job done, touching in 51.7 for 2nd in the Big 12 Championships final to punch his ticket to Minneapolis in March.
Wow. Just goes to show a nice pool doesn’t predict team success. Just ask WVU
At the Big12 championship, you couldn’t help but admire the enthusiasm and spirit of the team, and their families and supporters.
No one I talked to even mentioned the pool situation.
100 breaststrokers do most of their work in the weight room anyway
Jadon Wuilliez is a beast! My only question is, why do these high level swimmers attend TCU and WVU when they know that Texas will crush them in the Big 12 championship meet? I would want to go to a school where I can fight for the championship.
Not everyone can attend Texas (nor should they all want to). Is that really that hard to understand?
We helped Jadon and his family with recruiting and Texas was not affordable
But TCU was?
TCU is probably much more likely to give him a large or full scholarship than Texas
Probably has to do with Texas’ tuition for international students, vs. TCU, it is net cost
With no scholarships, out of state tuition vs TCUs tuition is closer than you’d think
Texas out of state is 28.
TCU is 51.
Nice job letting everyone know the financial situation of the family.👍
Truly the worst takes on this site, without fail.
Or maybe the school part was more important?
Awesome!
Reminds me of Rockhurst HS.
TCU needed a new pool 20 years ago.
I’m guessing TCU has the resources to build a pool. It’s just not a priority. If it was, both teams would flourish.
Despite not having a home pool this year, they still showed up!

I only hope the ‘new’ pool was worth the sacrifice these swimmers endured!
W chain, keep it going
