Team USA is en route to Newark, New Jersey, where the airport will be the assembly site for the American team that heads to Scotland tonight for the 2013 Duel in the Pool. They will return to the United States on December 22nd: the day after the meet’s conclusion.
That meet runs from December 20th-21st in Glasgow, Scotland. It is a made-for-TV event that will pit the best in the United States against the best in Europe and hand out $120,000 in cash prizes. It will be aired in the United States from 4-6 PM Eastern Time on Sunday on a taped delay on NBC; and LIVE on SkySports 2 in the UK at 7PM on Friday (1PM U.S. Eastern time) and 2:15 PM on Saturday (8:15AM U.S. Eastern Time).
Live results and team scoring for the meet will be available here.
See our full meet coverage, including event-by-event previews, here.
Both rosters have had changes since original announcement, though the Europeans have seen many more changes than the Americans. See the current rosters below.

it seems like many Europeans either aren’t going at all (French) or going to Moscow. Not really a representative team.
My channels, including Eurosport, won’t cover this meet. Sky Sports seems to offer 24 hour access to their channels for £9.90 which allows one to watch those channels via livestream. Because Sunday’s competition takes place earlier than the on Saturday, it should be enough to subscribe just once, immediately before the action starts on Saturday. 🙂
Anyway, it’s a little bit unclear whether or not it’s possible to use their live stream service from abroad (outside UK).
Channels covering this meet has been published on the organisers’ website:
Enjoy TV, France
Al Jazeera, The Middle East
Dolce Sport, Romania
Sport TV, Portugal
TV E, Spain
XSports, Ukraine
PCTV, Mexico
I can’t help being a little bit envious. Some of those are a little bit surprising too but it’s just great that swimming gets coverage in not-so-prominent swimming nations.
Al Jazeera is an interesting one. As far as I know many of their broadcasts can be seen on internet for free. Don’t know if the Duel is blocked or shown on some exclusive channel for the Middle Eastern countries only.

Big swims down under, capitalized by a 52.69 by Cate Campbell
Yes, CC has taken Women’s 100m freestyle a leap forward. I hope others can respond to the challenge.
I felt Britta Steffen’s WR was one of the more outageous ones, and probably worth a 46.6 or so if translated to men’s times. Cate Campbell seeming on the trajectory to break that is outrageous. Although an easy 0.2 could come from her starts
I totally agree with everything you wrote.
I just hope she will be in good health comes 2016 Rio.
We’ll see but Barcelona may prove to be the starting point for a epoch of Cate Campbell’s domination of the Women’s 100-meter freestyle. I presume she hasn’t suffered a single defeat in any heat or final of the 100m free since Barcelona.
Any idea where in Newark they’ll be meeting up?
jarrettbrown – they likely won’t ever leave the airport.
Damn… there goes the autograph attempt.
why the asterisk beside kathleen baker?
Because she was a late add. I think it just didn’t get removed from an earlier post.
