KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – With six home events on the docket and regular-season meetings against some of the nation’s top programs, the Tennessee swimming and diving program announced its 2019-20 schedule on Wednesday.

This season features four home dual meets, including the annual Orange and White Intrasquad meet to kickoff the year (Sept. 20), the Tennessee Invitational (Nov. 21-23) and Tennessee Diving Invitational (Jan. 3-5).

The Vols will go on the road to begin the season as they face UNC-Wilmington for a dual meet (Sept. 27) and an open water race (Sept. 28). Tennessee then heads back to the Carolinas, this time competing against South Carolina, in its first SEC meet on Oct. 11.

Road trips to Ann Arbor, Mich., where the Vols face Michigan and Virginia in dual meets (Oct. 18-19), and a dual meet at Louisville (Oct. 24) lead into Tennessee’s home dual meets against Purdue (Nov. 8), Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt (Nov. 9).

Tennessee heads to Georgia on Jan. 25 to take on the Bulldogs before returning home for Senior Day against Florida on Feb. 1.

The 2020 SEC Championships will be hosted by Auburn, running Tuesday-Saturday, Feb. 18-22. NCAA Zone Diving Championships run March 9-11 in Athens, Ga., with the NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships taking place in Athens, March 18-22. The Men’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships will be back in Indianapolis, March 25-28.

Last season, the Vols placed third in the SEC, their highest finish since 2011, and 11th at the NCAA Championships. The Lady Vols finished fourth at the SEC meet and eighth at nationals. The NCAA meet was highlighted by Nikol Popov, Meghan Small, Madeline Banic and Erika Brown winning the 200 medley relay national title and Zhipeng (Colin) Zeng bringing home the one-meter springboard national title.

Director of Swimming & Diving Matt Kredich enters his 15th season on Rocky Top and eighth leading both the men’s and women’s programs.
