The Texas Longhorns face-off with the Texas A&M Aggies in Austin this evening in a dual with both the men’s and women’s programs. Follow along here with live updates event-by-event.

200 MEDLEY RELAY

WOMEN

1. Texas A – 1:37.87
2. Texas B – 1:42.34
3. A&M A – 1:42.98

The Longhorn women are out firing on all cylinders. They 1-2’d this one, with their A going 1:37.87 and their B a 1:42.34. Junior Julia Cook was 24.90 leading off, followed by a 27.20 breast and 23.58 fly from freshmen Anna Elendt and Olivia Bray, respectively, and a 22.19 anchor from sophomore Bridget Semenuk.

A&M is in rebuilding mode, but freshman standout Chloe Stepanek was 22.44 on the end of their A relay, a huge split given her lifetime best is a 22.87.

Shaine Casas was strong leading off A&M’s A with a 21.73, but the Aggies couldn’t hang with Texas past that. Chris Staka wasn’t far back for the Longhorns at 22.08 leading off, then Charlie Scheinfeld split 24.29 to out-split A&M’s Tanner Olson (24.59) and Texas B relay’s Caspar Corbeau (24.32) and Alvin Jiang sliced a 20.95 fly leg. On the end, Daniel Krueger torched the field with a 19.51 anchor.

1. Evie Pfeifer (Texas) – 9:52.83
2. Camryn Toney (A&M) – 9:58.27
3. Mary Smutny (Texas) – 10:12.30

Evie Pfeifer of Texas and Camryn Toney of A&M both sailed under the ten-minute mark, with Pfeifer winning by almost six seconds over Toney. Sophomore Mary Smutny of Texas pulled in at third (10:12.30) ahead of A&M’s Mollie Wright (10:15.18).

3. Alex Zettle (Texas) – 9:22.28

This was all Texas, as they went 1-2-3-4 with Matthew Tannenberger snagging fourth in 9:24.14. No David Johnston here, the freshman breakout star who broke Bobby Finke‘s 17-18 NAG record in the 1000 free two weeks ago at the Texas First Chance Invite.

2. Chloe Stepanek (A&M) – 1:47.10
3. Bridget Semenuk (Texas) – 1:47.41

Stepanek clocked a 1:46.7 last week to earn her the Dolfin Swim of the Week, but Texas’s Kelly Pash got the job done here.

Men

2. Carson Foster (Texas) – 1:36.53
3. Mark Theall (A&M) – 1:38.95

The men’s 200 free was all Texas, or really just all Drew Kibler, who posted a 1:34.90  to take this one easily over freshman star Carson Foster (1:36.53) and A&M’s Mark Theall (1:38.95).

The only other man under 1:40 here was Longhorn Jake Sannem (1:39.40).

Men

1. Shaine Casas (A&M) – 46.27
2. Alvin Jiang (Texas) – 47.53

Shaine Casas broke through for the first A&M victory tonight, dominating this field with a 46.27 for the win. Alvin Jiang cruised to second in 47.53, followed by Austin Katz at 48.94.

100 BREAST

Women

1. Anna Elendt (Texas) – 1:00.82
2. Emme Nelson (A&M) – 1:03.21
3. Charlotte Longbottom (A&M) – 1:03.82

It was a trio of freshmen on top here, with German national Anna Elendt again proving to be one of the biggest NCAA newcomers with another 1:00. She follows up her 1:00.30 from the Dust Your Boots Off meet two weeks ago with another very strong early-season swim.

Men

1. Caspar Corbeau (Texas) – 54.37
2. Charlie Scheinfeld (Texas) – 54.73
3. Andres Puente (A&M) – 55.03

This was a tight one, and Corbeau rose up from the B relay medley breast leg to the event winner in the 100 breast. His teammate, Scheinfeld, settled for second at 54.73, with A&M sophomore Andres Puente right behind (55.03). Olson, the A&M A medley relay breaststroker, wasn’t far back at fourth (55.23).

200 FLY

Women

1. Jing Quah (A&M) – 1:57.85
2. Emma Sticklen (Texas) – 1:58.29
3. Taylor Pike (A&M) – 1:58.57

A&M got their first win on the women’s side courtesy of Jing Quah, who nailed down a 1:57.85. Her teammate Taylor Pike nearly made this an Aggie 1-2 at 1:58.57, but Longhorn freshman Emma Sticklen secured second place with a 1:58.29. Another Longhorn first-year, Olivia Bray, snagged fourth at 1:59.61.

Men

1. Sam Pomajevich (Texas) – 1:46.60
2. Andrew Koustik (Texas) – 1:47.00
3. Jake Foster (Texas) – 1:47.07

Texas crashed the scoreboard with this one, claiming first through fourth (Coby Carrozza at 1:47.64).

Women

1. Bridget Semenuk (Texas) – 22.70
2. Chloe Stepanek (A&M) – 23.17
3. Grace Cooper (Texas) – 23.49

Semenuk was the only women under 23 in the 50 free, clocking a 22.70, which improves upon her season-opening 22.98 from two weeks ago. Stepanek was second once again, going 23.17 ahead of Longhorn freshman Grace Cooper (23.49).

Men

1. Daniel Krueger (Texas) – 19.73
2. Clayton Bobo (A&M) – 20.83
3. Kraig Bray (A&M) – 21.08

This race wasn’t much of a contest, as Krueger blew in under twenty seconds to post a 19.73, over a full second ahead of the next-best finisher.

3. Kyla Leibel (Texas) – 50.99

Pash again was able to deny Stepanek a win as both women slipped under the 50-second barrier. Pash was quicker than the 49.79 flying start relay split she posted two weeks ago.

Men

1. Drew Kibler (Texas) – 43.83
2. Jake Sannem (Texas) – 45.44
3. Mark Theall (A&M) – 45.77

Kibler followed up his 200 free win with another sprint blow-out, the only finisher under 45 seconds with a 43.83 here. Theall nearly snuck in for second, but it was Longhorn Sannem in first at the wall.

Women

2. Sydney Silver (Texas) – 2:02.74
3. Kara Eisenmann (A&M) – 2:03.07

The Longhorns went 1-2 in the 200 back, led by junior Cook at 1:57.96, the only finisher under two minutes. Longhorn freshman Sydney Silver got up to snag second in 2:02.74.

Men

2. Carson Foster (Texas) – 1:45.14
3. Austin Katz (Texas) – 1:46.86

Casas had no trouble disposing of the field in this race, adding another Aggie win to follow-up his 100 back victory. He was 23.8 going out then held 26s, descending from 26.5 to 26.4 to 26.1 on the final 50. Foster nabbed second in 1:45.14 ahead of Katz (1:46.86).

200 BREAST

Women

1. Anna Elendt (Texas) – 2:12.85
2. Emme Nelson (A&M) – 2:16.65
3. Desirae Mangaoang (A&M) – 2:18.12

It’s another freshman podium, and Elendt led again at 2:12.85. Nelson lopped a few-tenths from her season best, and Aggie first-year Desirae Mangaoang swooped in for third (2:18.12).

Men

1. Caspar Corbeau (Texas) – 1:58.04
2. Andres Puente (A&M) – 1:58.51
3. Jake Foster (Texas) – 1:59.77

Puente nearly stole away another win for the Aggies here, but Corbeau held strong, touching at 1:58.04.

Also getting under two minutes was Scheinfeld at 1:59.90 for fourth.

Women

1. Evie Pfeifer (Texas) – 4:43.75
2. Camryn Toney (A&M) – 4:56.02
3. Mary Smutny (Texas) – 5:00.74

Pfeifer really smacked the field around in this race, blasting a 4:43.75 to win by over 12 seconds. This appears to be her first-ever dual meet performance under 4:45.

Men

1. Coby Carrozza (Texas) – 4:22.79
2. JT Larson (Texas) – 4:28.13
3. Alex Zettle (Texas) – 4:29.26

Another sweep for the Longhorns, this time with freshman Carrozza taking this one by half a pool-length at 4:22.79.

100 FLY

Women

1. Emma Sticklen (Texas) – 53.59
2. Olivia Bray (Texas) – 53.62
3. Jing Quah (A&M) – 54.84

The Longhorn freshman butterfliers duked this out, with Sticklen prevailing over Bray by three-hundredths.

Men

1. Alvin Jiang (Texas) – 47.79 EXH
2. Sam Pomajevich (Texas) – 48.16 EXH
3. Jace Brown (A&M) – 48.63

The Longhorn men began exhibitioning top swims here, meaning A&M’s Brown technically won this one in 48.63. Jiang put up the quickest time, though, at 47.79.

Women

1. Kelly Pash (Texas) – 1:58.75 EXH
2. Evie Pfeifer (Texas) – 1:59.40 EXH
3. Jing Quah (A&M) – 2:01.64

Though exhibitioned, Pash and Pfeifer both broke 2:00 for Texas, with Pash taking her third event with a 1:58.75.

Men

3. Jake Foster (Texas) – 1:49.06 EXH

Casas doesn’t budge, throwing down a 1:44.87 to rout the field here and collect his third victory. He’ll be the only Aggie on the men’s side, swimming-wise, with a win today, apart from Brown’s 100 fly win due to exhibitions. C. Foster nabbed second once again, going 1:47.61.

400 FREE RELAY

Women

1. Texas A – 3:20.30
2. Texas B – 3:27.03
3. A&M B – 3:33.39

The Texas women closed out a big victory today with another relay win, their A nearly cracking 3:20. Key splits for them on that relay were Cook’s 49.20 second leg and Leibel’s 49.91 anchor leg. Semenuk led off in 50.78 and Bray split a 50.41 on the third leg.

Men

2. Texas B – 3:01.17
3. A&M A – 3:01.74

It’s Texas on top one last time in the pool, as the A relay soared to a win with a big 2:55.24. Krueger lit it up with a 43.07 lead-off, followed by Sannem (44.38), Carrozza (44.30) and Kibler (43.49).

Peter Larson (44.7) and Katz (44.8) had solid splits on the Longhorns’ B relay, too.
