Texas Remains #1 in CSCAA Men’s Polls (11/24/2015)

The Texas men remain atop the latest poll from the College Swiming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), earning 8 of 9 first-place votes.

The lone dissenting vote went to California, which sits #2 in the rankings as it did in the previous poll. Neither Texas nor Cal competed at a major invitational this past weekend. The Longhorns host their Texas Invite next week, while Cal will head to the Georgia Invite.

After some big Caeleb Dressel swims at the Ohio State Invite, Florida has jumped up to 5th place, leapfrogging Stanford and Georgia, who are now tied in the 4th slot.

A couple of newcomers to the top 10: Missouri has moved up into a tie for 7th with NC State, and the Louisville men rose up to 10th overall. UNC and Indiana drop out of the top 10, though they still both sit inside the top 15.

CSCAA release:

As it has all season, the University of Texas men remain atop the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America / TYR Top 25 Swimming & Diving Poll.  However, for the first time this season, the Longhorns did not capture every single first place vote.  While eight of the nine voters picked the defending NCAA champions, one selected second-ranked California.  Rankings are compiled by CSCAA-member coaches and released on a weekly basis, alternating between men’s and women’s team ranking.

Ohio State made the biggest jump in the poll, moving up seven spots to number fourteen.  Grand Canyon University made the highest debut, entering the ranking at #22.
