Texas Women’s 400 Medley Relay Team Breaks Big 12 Record Behind Kelly Pash’s Big Split

The Texas women’s 400 medley relay team took down its own Big 12 record from last season’s conference championship meet on Friday night at the 2022 Minnesota Invite.

The Longhorns’ quartet of Olivia Bray (50.92), Anna Elendt (57.08), Emma Sticklen (50.82), and Kelly Pash (47.14) teamed up to total a time of 3:25.96, breaking both the Texas school record and Big 12 mark. The same squad clocked a 3:26.32 at the 2022 Big 12 Championships in February. Every member of the team went slower than Big 12s here midseason except for Pash, who crushed a 47.14 freestyle anchor to shave over a second off her split from the previous record. Pash’s time is the third-fastest 100 free relay split this season behind Gretchen Walsh (46.89) and Torri Huske (46.85).

Texas now owns the fastest time in the nation this season ahead of Stanford’s 3:26.97. No other schools have been under 3:29 this season.

Cal took 2nd behind the Longhorns in 3:30.96, with a 51.00 leadoff by Isabelle Stadden standing out. Texas’ ‘B’ relay finished 3rd, with Lydia Jacoby splitting 58.70 on the breaststroke leg.
