TFA’s Emma Wagner Makes Verbal Commitment to Cornell

Emma Wagner of Allen, Texas has verbally committed to the application process at Cornell University.* Wagner is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from Allen High School. She swims year-round for Texas Ford Aquatics.

“So excited to announce my verbal commitment to Cornell University! I’m grateful to everyone who helped me get here, go Big Red!!

Wagner is a versatile swimmer who excels in the 200-400 range of back, fly, and IM. She placed 15th in the 500 free at the 2015 Texas 6A State Championships, but didn’t swim in the state meet as a junior. In club swimming Wagner had a good summer season, competing at both Austin Sectionals and Austin Futures, and making B finals at the latter in both the 200 fly and 400 IM.

Her top times (SCY/LCM) are:

  • 400 IM – 4:24.07 / 5:00.84
  • 200 Fly – 2:03.37 / 2:20.82
  • 100 Fly – 57.80 / 1:05.99
  • 200 Back – 2:03.62 / 2:23.91
  • 100 Back – 58.07 / 1:08.56

Wagner will join Annaklara Doel and Sophia Cherkez who have also committed verbally to the Cornell University class of 2021.
