Full entry lists here
For the United States swimmers, they’re not only competing for medals and records, but their times here will compete against those posted at the World Championships, U.S. Nationals, World Cup stops and other sanctioned meets in order to see their name to the U.S. National Team roster.
The original U.S. roster was announced back in December, with the likes of Olympic medalists Nathan Adrian, Cody Miller and Lia Neal among the 35-strong lineup. Since then, there have been 2 changes, both on the women’s side, with open water extraordinaire Haley Anderson opting out of the competition altogether, while Hellen Moffitt was also replaced.
Becca Mann, already racing in the open water in Lima, will now contest the 400m, 800m and 1500m free, while Ali DeLoof will be racing the 100m back. Sarah Gibson was already entered in the 200m fly, but will also now contest the 100m sprint.
Somewhat remarkably, Canada is only bringing 2 male pool swimmers to Peru, with Javier Acevedo and James Dergousoff, compared to the list of 14 women swimmers. Among the women ready to rumble at these Pan Ams is Mary-Sophie Harvey, Haley Black, Katarine Savard, Alexia Zevnik and Alyson Ackman.
Brazil’s roster includes 2019 World Championships silver medalist in the 50 freestyle, Bruno Fratus, alongside 100m freestyle finalist Marcelo Chierghini. Gwangju silver medalist in the 50m breaststroke, Felipe Lima, is also set to race here at these Pan American Games, as is 50m back silver medalist Etiene Medeiros.
Brandonn Almeida, Joao De Lucca, Leonardo De Deus, Joao Gomes Junior, Luiz Altamir Melo, Breno Correia, Larissa Oliveira, Vini Lanza and Fernando Scheffer are also slated to race for Brazil this week.
As you peruse the entry lists, additional notable swimmers to watch out for include the following:
- Argentina – Federico Grabich, Santiago Grassi, Delfina Pignatiello
- Colombia – Omar Pinzon
- Ecuador – Tomas Peribonio
- El Salvador – Marcelo Acosta
- Jamaica – Michael Gunning
- Mexico – Long Guitierrez, Tayde Revilak, Gabriel Castano, Jorge Iga, Miguel De Lara, Ricardo Vargas
- Paraguay – Benjamin Hockin
- Trinidad & Tobago – Dylan Carter
- Venezuela – Carlos Claverie, Alberto Mestre, Cristian Quintero, Jeserik Pinto, Isabella Paez
Also expecting big swims from Annie Lazor and Will Licon…and all the men’s freestyle events will be very interesting after Nationals stirred things up!
Asthma will do that to you.
Interested to see what Cody can do in the breast seeing as Andrew Wilson and Nowicki have had great summers. Rooting for Nathan to have some solid swims….the Brazilians should be good competition
It’ll be tough competition especially with Lima and Jomes Gunior
I’m also interested how Cordes will perform with his recent coaching change
Where is Cordes training now? At UGA?
Yes. Cordes is used to coaching changes
A friend of mine created a full pdf of all entries instead of separate ones as availabe on site, if you have an e-mail I can send it
What do you think Fratus will go in the 50? 21.2?
I think he has a 21,2 on him.. but don´t know if he will go that..
But I would not be surprised if Both BRA Free relays go faster on PAN compared to Worlds.
How to watch? I can’t find any streaming information anywhere 😥
Ask Kriistina
Ease up on her. She’s a fan.
I’m still looking for the Worlds livestream.
let us know when u get it ,,,,thanks
CBC sports Lima will have online coverage.
