The Anthony Ervin Olympic Photo Vault

At SwimSwam we got a lot of requests to create a photo-spread on swimming star & comeback kid, Anthony Ervin. Thanks to resident artist and photographer, Tim Binning, we have the images. See all of Tim’s images (from NCAA coverage to the Grand Prix events to the Olympic Trials) here.

I’m a sprinter….sprinting’s awesome!

Great to see him return! How fortunate for this dude to be able to experience this olympic process with a whole new pair of glasses, (literally and figuratively).

I announced the Stanford/Cal men’s dual meet in 2000 when Ervin was a freshman. I remember the excitement when he broke the pool record in the 100 free in 42.6. Record still stands, I believe.

I’d love to see Garrett or Capt. Mel do an interview with Ervin and have him describe his tattoos in detail (closeups, what they are, when he got them, his state of mind, etc.). It would be interesting.

He was an Instructor and Coach at Imagine Swimming, and largely credits working with the children there for bringing him back to the sport.
