This is a 2-part video with an interesting look into the mind of the Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Cal Men’s and Women’s swimming teams. Nick Folker explains his philosophy of “strength training” in general terms and more in depth in regards to the specific needs of the Cal Bear coaching staff. Nick was on Olympic Swimmer himself, participating at the 2000 Olympic Games for South Africa.

Where can you buy the Aquatic Strength California t-shirts?
Im at a loss where did I miss the “spy” from stanford and where was there collaborating between cal and stanford…seems odd:)
I think the guy doing the interview went to Stanford.
PK@Auburn would be a good compliment to this video.
Anyone else notice that the “former cal student” in the intro was a homeless man? How fitting…
After all those years of Cal sending spies to watch my workouts, finally Stanford sends one to watch their workouts! Gotcha, Coach Durden!
Korn as an intro song? Made it tough to keep watching….
But I’m glad I did! Awkward ambush interviews with people on campus aside, that’s some good content right thurr.
There’s no way all those random people knew who he was… is there? If that’s real, Cal is doing a great job with publicity for their team, and other schools should take a look at what they’re doing (of course winning national championships helps).
Oh no, they had no idea who he was. Hell, I don’t even know who my school’s strength coach was and I saw him in the weight room all the time.
Amy – Thanks for posting – always like to see fish out of water.
So great to see Nick being recognized…He has worked Smart and Hard for many years to be where he is. So awesome to See the success and along with that the recognition. What a class act and a true innovator!
