Virginia commit Thomas Mercer swam to the win in the boys 200 IM on the final night of competition in Indianapolis at NCSAs. Mercer touched in a 2:02.17, about half a second off his best of a 2:01.52 that he swam last month for 30th at US Olympic Trials. Mercer improved on his time from this meet a year ago as he swam a 2:02.99 for 2nd last year.
Florida commit Devin Dilger won the boys 50 free in a 23.20, just off his time of a 23.17 from prelims. His best time stands at 22.67 that he swam to win Spring NCSAs. Dilger swam a 22.79 for 45th in the event at US Trials.
The final win on the boys side came from Sawyer Tapp in the 50 back as he swam to a 26.29 to outtouch Martin Perecinsky who swam a 26.31.
Annam Olasewere won the girls 50 free in a 25.41, just off her best of a 24.95 that she swam for silver at the 2023 World Championships last September. Olasewere will represent the US later this summer at Junior Pan Pacs. She is committed to Stanford for next fall. Olasewere was made semifinals in the 50 free at US Trials as she finished 14th in a 25.14. She won the event here last year in a 25.29.
16 year old Charlotte Crush continued to win this weekend, earning her 5th individual win of the weekend in the 50 back as she touched in a 28.70. She notably was 0.10 faster this year than she was in her win a year ago.
Kate Braeger was the final winner on the girls side swimming to a 2:15.45 in the 200 IM. That was a huge lifetime best for the 16 year old as her previous best time was a 2:17.85 from May. She came into the season with a lifetime best of a 2:22.27.
