Thomas Stub Appointed the Head of Talent Development for Danish Swimming

The Danish Swimming Federation has announced the appointment of Thomas Stub as the Head of Talent Development. Stubs takes over the position that was vacated by Michael Hinge, who was on the job for eight years before resigning in February of last year.

The Danish Federation in collaboration with Team Denmark took their time in selecting Hinge’s replacement ensuring that they got the right man for the job, “The job Thomas Stub must complete is extremely important for both the Danish Swimming Federation and Team Denmark,” says Pia Holmen, the Director of the Danish Swimming Federation.

“Focusing on talent does not give quick results, but it is important to always ensure that our talent development is of the highest quality.”

Stub was most recently the Head Coach and Director of the Esbjerg Swim Club. His job will be to ensure that the clubs and coaches who train the talented youth in Denmark create an environment for that talent to develop into top international swimmers at the senior level.

“I look forward to the job of talent development and am keen to work with ambitious clubs and talented coaches across the country,” said Stub.

“I am very motivated by the task of creating a more strategic approach to talent development.”

Stub will officially taking over the position on February 1, 2015.
