Today the draw for the Euro Cup eight-finals have been conducted and there are several thrilling duels in sight. Three of the eight match-ups feature teams from the same nation.
Winter is coming with a series of outstanding matches in the men’s Euro Cup eight-finals: the last day of November and mid-December will see heated battles around the continent.
Goddess Fortuna set up three national derbies. Italy’s Savona and Ortigia, Hungary’s Honved and Szolnok and Romania’s Steaua and Oradea will have their respective showdowns in this round – each promises thrilling clashes.
As for the other five pairings, France’s upcoming club Noisy, just dropped from the Champions League playoffs, faces Italy’s Trieste. The other CL ‘dropout’ Vasas (HUN) meet Serbia’s Crvena Zvezda – the Hungarians are coached by a Serb, Slobodan Nikic who won Olympic gold in Rio with head coach Dejan Savic who is currently in charge at the Zvezda’s bench, just to add some extra flavour to these games.
The other Belgrade-based side Partizan faces off Panionios of Greece, while the third Serbian team Sabac will play with CN Barcelona, which is another highlighted duel.
Montenegro’s only remaining team Primorac meet France’s Tourcoing – again, as they already played in the second round of the Champions League qualifications. We can say, they left the job unfinished as their game ended in a 10-10 tie, now they will decide which is the better side.
