Tom Shields Wins 100m Back at Dubai FINA World Cup (Race Video)

Men’s 100 back – Dubai World Cup – as reported by SwimSwam contributor Jeff Grace:

American Tom Shields took the men’s 100 backstroke in a life time best time of 50.15, a second and a half faster than his previous best of 51.61, which he recorded in 2012. Shields beat Australian Robert Hurley who had won the event in both Berlin and Moscow.

Hurley finished second in a time of 50.34 followed by Radoslaw Kawecki of Poland who touched third in a time of 51.04.

i wish this clip was made better. shields had a good comeback and amazing underwaters that we werent able to even watch. on top of that the commentator didnt even know who was swimming

the camera work and editing of the clip is just terrible. why are hand and feet shots necessary? makes me sad.

Didn’t Shields win the 100 fly in Berlin? He broke the american record and beat Le Clos.
