Top-Seeded Aroesty Scratches 100 Breast On Day 1 of Junior Nats

2017 U.S. JUNIOR NATIONALS

Top-seeded Margaret Aroesty has scratched the girls 100 breaststroke on the first day of the 2017 Junior National Championships in New York.

Aroesty, an 18-year-old wrapping up her last summer with Long Island Aquatics before heading west to USC, was seeded 1.5 seconds ahead of the field in that race, but does not appear on heat sheets.

There were only a handful of other scratches out of the circle-seeded heats. The meet kicks off at 9:00 AM U.S. Eastern time tomorrow, with prelims of the 200 fly and 100 breast. The girls 800 free and boys 1500 free will have heats in the afternoon, with the top 8 swimming during the evening finals session.
