Top Swimmers Gather For Competition In Lamezia Terme

On November 9th and 10th several notable swimmers including Russian 2012 Olympic medalists Evegeny Korothinskin (silver 100 butterfly) and Anastasia Zueva (silver 200 backstroke) will compete in the fifth Meeting Nuoto Citta di Lamezia Terme. Korothinskin finished fifth in his specialty in Barcelona this summer while Zueva in her first major competition since suffering from injury won the 50 and 100 backstroke at the World University Games.

The two highest profile swimmers attending the competition will be Italian swimming stars Federica Pellegrini and Filippo Milano, Nuoto - Trofo citt&#x202Magnini. Pellegrini and Magnini had been in high profile relationship for the last two years that was until Monday when the two announced their official separation.

Now just a few days later the two who are both coached by Philippe Lucas and Matteo Giunta will return to competition in Lamezia Terme.

Pellegrini who took a short sabbatical after the London Olympics returned to top form at the 2013 World Championships in Barcelona collecting a silver in the 200 freestyle.

Other swimmers that will be competing will be Luca Marin, Ilaria Bianchi, Luca Dotto, Sergey Fesikov and Andrrei Govorov.
