Sorry I don’t get Calanog’s brag here. He coached a high schooler to sub 19 – which is impressive, even if it’s Dressel.
But coaching a college athlete to a sub 19? Very fast obviously but it’s not earth shattering these days.
Am I missing something deeper?
You’re not entirely wrong, but at the same time, I think the point is that there aren’t that many coaches anymore who have had success at coaching athletes at both the high school level and the college level. The two jobs have become pretty disparate.

Jeff Poppell (Bolles & Gulliver/ARK & UF)? Gregg Troy (Bolles/UF)? Steve Bultman (GPAC/TA&M)? J Agnew had a lot of IN HS success and NCAA.
