Tori Brostowitz Verbals to University of Tennessee

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Wisconsin swimmer Tori Brostowitz has verbally committed to the University of Tennessee for the fall of 2023. Brostowitz is currently a junior at Catholic Memorial High School.

“I am extremely excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Tennessee!! Thank you to my family, friends, coaches, and teammates whose endless support and encouragement have helped get me to where I am today. I am beyond blessed, and can’t wait to be a lady vol!! GO VOLS!!!

Brostowitz won first place in the 100 breaststroke at the 2021 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Association Girls Division I Sectional. At the same meet, she placed second in the 100 butterfly. At the 2021 Wisconsin Short Course Championship, she placed second in the 200 IM and 200 butterfly, third place in the 200 breaststroke, and fourth place in the 50 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, and 400 IM.

She swims club for Schroeder YMCA. Brostowitz has a Summer Juniors cut in the 200 IM, Winter Juniors cuts in the 100 butterfly and 200 breaststroke, U.S. Winter Open cut in the 100 breaststroke, and Futures cuts in the 50 and 100 freestyle, 100 and 200 backstroke, and the 400 IM.

Her best short course times are:

  • 200 backstroke: 2:04.50
  • 100 breaststroke: 1:00.94
  • 200 breaststroke: 2:15.63
  • 100 butterfly: 54.05
  • 200 IM: 2:00.54

Tennessee is a member of the Southeastern Conference. At the 2021 SEC Championships, Tennessee placed fifth out of 12 teams. Brostowitz would have made C finals in the 100 breaststroke at the conference championships.

She’ll likely find a training partner in Mona McSharry, a current sophomore who placed second in the 100 breaststroke at conference championships last year. The other two Tennessee swimmers who made finals in the event — Alex Gebel and Emily Sykes — will or already have graduated.

Brostowitz joins 2023 commit Molly Blanchard for Tennessee’s class of 2027.
