Towson Tigers Keep North Baltimore Aquatic Club’s Grace Hansen In-State

Timonium, Maryland-native Grace Hansen has decided to stay in-state and has given her verbal commitment to Towson University starting with the 2015-16 season.

“I committed to Towson University because of the team’s optimism and encouragement in the pool as well as in the classroom. I believe the positive atmosphere the coaches and swimmers create will allow me to excel in swimming and in my schoolwork.”

Hansen swims on North Baltimore Aquatic Club under coach Erik Posegay, and specializes in IM and fly. Her top times are:

400 IM SCY: 4:35.59
400 IM LCM: 5:11.62
200 FLY SCY: 2:09.68
200 FLY LCM: 2:25.58

Hansen has made significant improvements in both short course yards and long course meters in these events over the last couple of years. This summer she dropped 7.5 seconds in the 200 fly; in the 400 IM she was 11.2 seconds faster than last year but 18.1 faster than two years ago. Similarly, in the 2013-14 short course season Hansen improved 7.5 seconds in the 200 fly and 9.2 in the 400 IM over the last two years.

“I am excited for my future as a student and swimmer at Towson! Go tigers!!!”
