Day 3 Finals Start List
After posting the top 50 fly time and getting within .2 of his lifetime best, Indiana University’s Mikkel Lee opted out of the final session at the Pro Swim Series in Westmont.
The Hoosier and Singaporean national teamer blasted a 23.58, just .16 off his 23.42 lifetime best, to earn the middle lane tonight. Lee just competed at the Big Ten Championships last weekend, where he placed in the top 8 of the 100 free. He swam in last night’s final session in the same event, but he will not be swimming at all tonight. His scratch allows Sun Devil swimmers Mikel Schreuders and Michael Andrew better shots at double sprint wins in the 50 fly and 50 breast. It also bumps Lee’s national team mate, Jonathan Tan, into the A final.
#12 Trenton Julian and #16 Jack Dahlgren also scratched the same event. Julian also scratched the 200 free, where he placed 15th. Julian swam in the 200 fly A final last night, which he won.
Other notable scratches included Canadian Olympic champion Penny Oleksiak, who opted out of the 200 free but is still in the 50 fly. Teagan O’Dell also dropped the 200 free in favor of the 200 back.

The piano was really that devastating wow
He’s still warming down, give him a break!
No surprise! If he was in the A final, he wouldn’t have scratched.
