TritonWear To Change the Way the World Prepares for Tokyo 2020

TritonWear is a Toronto based sports technology company underpinning personal bests and new records for competitive swimmers worldwide. With commercial product launch late in 2015, TritonWear technology was available for multiple Olympians to integrate into their training for Rio.

TritonWear is changing the way swimmers train by providing their coaches with real-time metrics and analysis including stroke rate, turn time, and split times. TritonWear automatically calculates over a dozen key performance metrics through a small device attached to the back of the goggle strap. These metrics are sent to a coach’s tablet in real-time, enabling the coach to monitor and adjust the swimmer’s training based on those metrics.

Debuting on the social media world stage during the Olympics, TritonWear partnered with media channel, SwimSwam, to deliver post race analysis for all swimming finals. On this international platform, TritonWear demonstrated the type of insights athletes and coaches have access to during training with their technology. Examples of such analysis can be found here: Rio 2016 Olympic Games Race Analysis.

“Using TritonWear data to make athletes more efficient will not only educate them, but ultimately make them faster,” Ben Titley, head coach of Canada’s 2016 Olympic Swim Team, commented earlier this summer. “I would recommend TritonWear to any swim coach – this is the way elite sports are going.” The Canadian Team came home with an unprecedented six medals in Rio, more than double what was achieved in London 2012.

TritonWear adoption to date includes athletes competing at clubs, high school, masters, varsity and national teams. “It’s like having another coach on deck,” said Jeremy Organ, Head Coach of the Division I Varsity Swim Team at Vanderbilt University.

TritonWear has secured $2 million in financing to help it penetrate the competitive swim market globally.

Forever known as the inaugural Olympic champion in triathlon, Simon Whitfield stated, ‘it would have been incredible to access TritonWear during my career. The accuracy and diversity of data is going to change the way athletes and coaches communicate and adapt their training – in the moment.” Whitfield’s Relentless Pursuit Partners fund participated in the TritonWear financing that closed during the Rio Olympics.

Former Team Captain for the University of Waterloo Swim Team and TritonWear co-founder, Tristan Lehari, highlights, “we have proven the technology in the swimming market. We are scaling quickly while constantly innovating with the help of our customers to take the sport to new levels.”

TritonWear’s summer 2016 financing, led by Real Ventures, included investment from Relentless Pursuit Partners, MaRS IAF, Green Century Investment, Bryker Capital and several other private investors.
